Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent accident at maintenance work and lessen the capacity of a main fan installed in an on-ground house by precluding formation of a methane gas layer at the top of a water discharge channel or oxygen shortage at the bottom of a pit. SOLUTION: An underground water discharge channel is equipped with a duct 6 leading from the top of the underground water discharge channel 2 to an on-ground house 4 and an auxiliary fan 5 which is connected with the duct 6, and the operation of this auxiliary fan 5 is controlled based upon the concentration of different sort gas measured by a sensing means 7 installed at the top of the underground water discharge channel 2. The duct 6 leads from the bottom of a pit 1 to the house 4 and the auxiliary fan 5 is connected with the duct 6, and the operation of the auxiliary fan 5 is controlled by the oxygen concentration measured by an oxygen concentration sensing means installed at the bottom of the pit 1.
